Liverpool will maintain the championship squad to return to fight next season. But one big purchase is felt important to refresh the team.
Liverpool are dominant in the Premier League this season until they are able to lock in the title with seven matches remaining. ‘The Red’ has collected 86 points from 31 weeks, winning 23 points from Manchester City in second place.
This tough performance has been seen since last season. Despite having to be satisfied with the runner-up position, Mohamed Salah et al last season was able to collect 97 points and only one point behind Man City who won.
Liverpool even recorded defeats and conceded the fewest number during 2018/2019. Not much has changed from the squad for the past two seasons and it is estimated that Juergen Klopp will not be fiddling again for next season.
Legendary English striker Alan Shearer believes Liverpool still need to make a purchase, although not much. One big purchase will give an injection of motivation and refresh the team.

“I can see them bringing in a big name, which will further encourage those who are already there. But when you look at the team, the goalkeeper is top class. Wing-backs, abundant praise. They can add a center back next to Virgil van Dijk , but Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are doing well. “
“Then you look at the midfield and front line and whoever they approach and buy, will this team significantly improve? Klopp now has a duty to prepare them for the next challenge.”

Liverpool is associated with a number of top names heading to the summer transfer window this year. They were briefly linked with Timo Werner, who eventually went to Chelsea, also rumored to be interested in Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) and Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund).
