At one of the intersections of Hungária körút, due to a group of people fighting, the driver of tram 1 got out of the vehicle and chased the members of the group off the tracks with an object that looked like an iron pipe – writes BpiAutósok.hu.
One of the newspaper’s readers recorded the incident. According to the witness’ report, the members of the group started fighting at the intersection, so the tram braked and the tram driver got out of the vehicle. THE on video you can see how the tram driver with an iron pipe-like object in his hand walks up to the previously quarreling company and shouts to them:
“Get out of here, you motherfuckers! Fuck you, I’m going to kill you! […] Should I go to jail because of you, you fool?”
We asked the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) to see if they knew about the incident and what they thought about the tram driver’s behavior. BKV answered our question, they wrote:
“According to the recording, tram 1 stops at the Kőbányai út intersection and then tries to start. However, it stops again because the uncertain and unpredictable movement of the people next to the tram posed a serious risk of an accident.
We have started an investigation into the events that followed.”
