On Tuesday, border guards caught 58 offenders

On Tuesday, the State Border Guard (SRS) has detected 58 offenders at the external borders and within the country, the SRS informs.

21 border violators were detained at the external borders, including one foreigner with forged documents. One Belarusian citizen was found at the Grebneva border checkpoint and presented a forged Belarusian driver’s license to the border guards. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents.

One Russian citizen was denied entry to Latvia at the Pāternieki border checkpoint because the foreigner did not have a valid visa or residence permit. Person returned to the country of departure.

Seven Ukrainian and one Ecuadorian citizens who had violated the conditions of residence in the Schengen area were identified at the border checkpoint of Grebneva, Terehova and Riga Airport. Proceedings in the administrative violation case of an Ecuadorian citizen were not initiated, the other persons were held administratively liable.

Two Latvian citizens whose documents are not valid for departure to Great Britain have been identified at the border checkpoint of Riga Airport. Individuals were denied exit.

During the internal immigration control measures, violations of the rules of entry or residence were detected in 13 persons – nine citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Nigeria and one citizen of Russia.

For violations in the field of operation of vehicles and vessels, VRS officials have prosecuted or prevented 24 persons from crossing the border – seven from Belarus, four from Latvia, four from Uzbekistan, two from Lithuania, one from Russia, one from Kyrgyzstan, one from Estonia, one from Moldova, one from Romania and one Slovenian citizen.
