A 270-pound moose with a car tire stuck in its neck was rescued in the US state of Colorado. The animal got into trouble two years ago, and forest officials have been trying to help it ever since, Nova reports.
Veterinarians found that the tire did not prevent him from eating or drinking water, but they were worried that he could get caught in a tree and that it would be fatal for the animal.
A local helped track down the moose, and doctors briefly anesthetized him and removed the stuck object. They found almost 5 kilograms of garbage in the tire. As a result of the accident, the moose has a small wound on its neck, but is in good condition and was released soon after the rescue operation.
