Behind every great man is a woman, a phrase that requires searching for that lady who stands behind the successful march of this person, but when the conversation is related to the leader of comedies in the Arab world, Adel Imam, the matter here is different.
Adel Imam, whose 80th birthday is celebrated in the Arab world, has succeeded in writing an independent art history, through a large number of works of art that everyone will learn from for years, after the leader became like an art school that any artist would be honored to pass through.

And because the journey always has its knights, there are women who have the lion’s share in Adel Imam’s artistic journey, and on their head comes his mother, that lady who was not reading and writing, but according to her son’s talk about her she had a strange cultural sense.
She had a special presence, pushing everyone to stand in respect of her when she entered the council, while her relationship with her older son was fair to her in a special nature.
Perhaps her most famous call was the reason for what the leader of the comedy reached, as she always called to him saying “Our Lord loves you in His creation”, and despite its association with him there was no objection to disciplining him at the time of error.
As Adel Imam recalls what happened when he was a little boy, on the way back with his mother and her friend, when some people watched entering one of the cinemas.
At that time, the boy was determined to enter, especially as he feels that there is joy radiating inside this place that he wants to explore, but his mother refused the matter because they were on the way back home.
In the face of the child’s persistence, anger, and crying, the mother did not find anything wrong with beating him with shoes in order to teach and discipline him, so that he could listen to what she said, which was repeated by his father after they returned home.

Losing the most precious love
When the leader’s mother passed away, she was suffering from illness, and he only wished for her relief, and she was in hospital, when Adel Imam received a call informing him of the tragic thing.
After receiving the news, he prayed two rak’ahs to God, then went to the hospital to find his father crying, so Adel Imam entered her, but he did not want to reveal her face, and he did not cry.
A month after her death, he was driving his car in the center of the capital, to suddenly decide to stop, and after that he went into a long cry of tears after he remembered his mother, and he learned of the feeling of losing it, to confirm that he missed the biggest and most precious love in his life, and there would be no one to love him as his mother loved him.

At the time of his mother’s death, Adel Imam confirmed that she had died while claiming to his wife Mrs. Hala Al-Shalqani, whom they call “the white soldier” at home, which was interpreted by Adel Imam as a mother in the true sense of the word.
This is despite her mastery of the French language and her aristocratic belonging, as he remembers the time of their marriage when she told him that “we are free constitutional” in reference to the family’s nobility, and he was only jokingly replied “I am from the sons of Abdel Nasser who brought the assertion to your brain.”
An Egyptian farmer graduated from law school, but decided to devote herself completely to the house. At the time of their marriage, the leader was afraid of the idea of marriage, and will she be the last lady he knows.
They also married without the knowledge of her family at first, as they objected to his work, but she insisted on marrying him, and from then on he owes her a lot of things.
The first meeting was brought together by the late Samir Khafaga, where his wife was staying with her grandmother who lives next to Khafaga, and Adel Imam came with his friends.
And when she was looking from the window, she found some inconsistencies, but Adel Imam was the only one who did not do these things. Hence the first spark.

Spoiled daughter
From the mother to the wife comes the daughter who sits at the heart of her father, Sarah Adel Imam, the one that Adel Imam talked a lot about, and he told in a previous meeting the scenes of her marriage.
When her husband’s family came to ask for her hand, and at the time, there was fear for the husband’s family, because the husband’s father belonged to the Brotherhood, and everyone knows the leader’s position on the group.
And as soon as the father arrived, Adel told the imam that he had nothing to do with politics, but he joined the group since he was 19 years old, so Adel imam was only telling him that he was a member of the Egyptian Communist Workers and Peasants Party since he was 16, to tell him saying, “Read al-Fatiha ? “So they completed the marriage.
His daughter sees that she is in this world and what is in her, as well as her daughters.
But he told her, “I will be the happiest one in the world when I know you love me,” and he recommended his two sons, Muhammad and Rami, to befriend that young man who was related to his daughter, until he became proud of his marriage to her.
