According to the Public Prosecution Service (OM), a 26-year-old man from the east of the Netherlands committed fornication as a YouTube game streamer with two young followers. The man is also accused of grooming, withdrawing from parental authority and possession of child pornography. His victims came from the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen and were 14 and 11 years old.

The public prosecutor believes that there are sufficient ingredients to impose a TBS measure on the man. The only question is whether a TBS with conditions is sufficient without nursing in a closed TBS clinic. At the request of the prosecutor, the judge decided to postpone the case by three months, in order to draw up a final advice (measure report) into the possibilities of this milder TBS variant.
Especially young people as followers
The gamer has his own channel on YouTube and is especially respected by young people, with whom he chats live during the game sessions. He also maintained contact via WhatsApp with, among others, the aforementioned boys from Drenthe and Groningen. He mentally manipulated and blackmailed them by showering them with compliments, gifts and giving them free gaming sessions. On the other hand, he gave them the impression that he was genetically ill and that they might soon miss their great friend.

He let them perform sexual acts with themselves via webcam and acted as their ‘teacher’ in this area. He insisted on physical appointments. This only worked with the youngest victim, with whom he made an appointment in September at a gas station in the province of Groningen. The parents became concerned when their boy was not home after several hours. The father looked at his son’s laptop and saw that he had an appointment with a man. The father also read other disturbing reports and called the police.
DNA material
A major search operation was launched, including a police helicopter. The prodigal son stepped over the threshold again at half past five. The 26-year-old suspect was arrested shortly afterwards. DNA material from both was found on each other’s bodies. The suspect had no idea how that could have happened. He did not show the back of his tongue while sitting. According to experts, the man suffers from pedophilia and struggles with autistic disorders.
Interim judgment
The court immediately came to a hearing with an interim judgment. The 26-year-old was found guilty on almost all counts. Only the withdrawal from parental authority did not prove proven by the judge. The suspect failed to keep the 11-year-old separated and separated from his parents. He was allowed to play outside and meet up and that is what happened here. But what happened during the appointment is evil and punishable, the judge said. The report of measures that must now be drawn up is necessary for the determination of the penalty. The man will remain in custody until the next hearing.
