“good 4 u” und “Beggin'”
Olivia Rodrigo (18) landed an absolute summer hit with her song “good 4 u”. As the streaming service Spotify announced, no title was viewed more frequently on the platform worldwide between May 29 and August 22. Users heard the US artist’s song more than 600 million times. In Germany, however, the winners of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, the Italian rock band Måneskin (“Zitti e buoni”), have the lead in the ranking.
According to Spotify, 18-year-old Olivia Rodrigo sets a new record thanks to her placement: She is the youngest artist to ever top the list of the world’s “Songs of Summer”. Right behind her, Måneskin take second place with their hit “Beggin ‘” in the international ranking. In Germany, the Italians around singer Damiano David (22) even sat in front of the singer from the United States – she only ranks third nationally, while Måneskin occupy the top position.

Damiano David and Co. even made it into the top five with another hit: “I Wanna Be Your Slave” is in fourth place in the Spotify ranking. In second place – between the rockers from Italy and the US singer – is a German-language song: “Sommergewitter” by Pashanim (21). Ed Sheeran (30) took fifth place with “Bad Habits”.
The international summer hit list is completed by “Todo De Ti” by Rauw Alejandro (28, third place), Lil Nas X (22) with “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” (fourth place) and Doja Cat (25) and SZA (30) with “Kiss Me More” (fifth place).
