OFFICIAL: James Rodriguez Joins Everton From Real Madrid

Everton is the third club for the duet of James and Ancelotti. Prior to this, both of them had been together at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Everton officially brought in midfielder from Colombia, James Rodriguez (29 years), from Real Madrid on Monday (7/9) local time or Tuesday (8/9) in the morning WIB.

As reported by the British media, Everton redeemed James for £ 20 million. The player is contracted until June 2022 with a year extension option.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti was reunited with James again. Previously, the two of them had worked together at two different clubs, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

“I am very, very happy to be at this great club, a club with so much history, and here with a manager who knows me very well,” said James on the club’s official website.

“I hope to achieve great things here and win a lot of things, which is the goal of every player.”

“I came here to try to improve my performance. I also came here to help the team win, to play good and entertaining football, “he added.

“I’m sure, with Carlo [Ancelotti] and its staff, we can achieve great things one of the main reasons [saya bergabung ke Everton] is Carlo Ancelotti. “

“I enjoyed good times with him at two different clubs before. That’s a big reason I came here,” he concluded.

James brought in from Madrid Monaco worth € 60 million in the 2014/15 season following a stellar display for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup – during which he won the golden boot with six goals, including his fantastic goal against Uruguay—.

However, James only appeared regularly in his inaugural season which was also Ancelotti’s last season in managing El Real.

At the start of the 2017/18 season, Ancelotti, who at that time coached Bayern, borrowed James from Madrid. Apes, the first name was actually fired not long ago due to the club’s poor performance.

Meanwhile, James is not the main choice of coach Zinedine Zidane in Madrid. Last season, the player with the remaining contract for a year only appeared eight times in LaLiga with one goal and one contribution assist.

James has become Everton’s second recruit in the transfer market this summer, following Brazilian midfielder Allan, who arrived from Naples, last weekend.

Closest, Everton will formalize their third purchase, namely the midfielder Watford, Abdoulaye Doucoure.

As for the opening week of the English Premier League 2020/21 season, Everton will fight Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday (13/9).
