Circus Oktagon pitched its tent outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia for the ninth time. Seventh time in Germany, the second time in an almost sold-out hall for 12,000 spectators in Oberhausen. The main attraction of the 53rd numbered tournament was the women’s strawweight title match.

Neruda took a blow to the face
German Cihad Akipa (6-2) and 36-year-old Croatian matador Ivica Trušček (43-39) performed a wild staredown. The fighters met head to head, Trušček tied his opponent with his hands around his body. Akipa breaks free and delivers some left hooks. He also hit the promoter Pavel Neruda, who was separating the two cocks.

The match was directed by the experienced Trušček. He did not let the elite kickboxer work in the stance, tied him up and tired him. In the 2nd round he took him down and pulled him to a guillotine. In the respectable 82nd match of his professional career, he achieved his 43rd victory. Akipo didn’t have time to knock away, he lost consciousness and only Trušček alerted the referee Pavel Touš. Subsequently, he repeatedly scolded him for finishing late.
The Croatian admitted after the match that he really liked the insulting comment directed at Akip’s mother. However, he allegedly did not even read it and did so automatically. He condemned the comment and apologized to his opponent. He again apologized for the short circuit during the staredown. Both of them shook hands and hugged each other after the fight.
Trušček, among others, also wrestled with Islam Machačev (25-1) during his rich career. The Dagestani is the UFC lightweight champion and an absolute force across all weight categories. Trušček lasted three rounds with him.
The only Slovak on the card works in Lidl. His debut did not work out
Debut among professionals and immediately in the Octagon in front of a packed hall in Germany? Slovak Tomáš Votava (0-1) did not take advantage of a unique opportunity. German representative Emir-Can Al (1-0) true to his nickname “Turkish Bull” pressed from the beginning. After a minute and a half, he sent Votava to the ground with a left hook, ending the duel with strikes on the ground.
Votava was the only Slovak on the card. A lover of jiu-jitsu, which is also tattooed on his chest, he practices combat sports in addition to working as an operator in the Lidl supermarket. He made his professional debut only at the age of 29, among amateurs he had 30 matches.
Tigrica defended her title
According to Fight Matrix, she is the highest-ranked fighter in the Octagon, in the strawweight category, she is 31st in the world. The German Katharina “Tigrica” Dalisdaová (11-3) defeated the Frenchwoman Eva Dourtheová (8-6) on points in the not very attractive main match of the evening.

Czech Jan Fajk (4-1) entered the cage of the Octagon after more than three years, but it was not a successful return. He suffered the first loss in his career, Kosovo’s Endrit Brajshori (3-1) pulled him to the guillotine at the beginning of the 2nd round.
The story of an evening with an unhappy ending
He started despite the death of his sister in Iran earlier in the week. He did not attend the funeral, which took place the day before the match. Tested by fate, he showed the heart of a fighter and had a UFC veteran on his back. In the end, he lost unhappily.
In the German duel, Hojat Khajevand (7-4) was headed for a lifetime triumph over David Zawada (19-9). After two rounds he was winning on points and although he was running out of energy, he was able to survive the last 36 seconds. However, Zawada turned the whole match around with a successful heel hook technique and returned to the winning streak after two losses in the PFL last year.
He asked for the middleweight title match, which is reigned by Czech Patrik Kincl (27-10). If, according to the promoters, it is too early for the fight for the belt, he pointed to Matěj Peňáz (9-1).
