ÖBB does not see Corona millions as state aid

Vienna – ÖBB General Andreas Matthä and his Chief Financial Officer Arnold Schiefer tried to minimize the need for financial aid for the Federal Railways on Friday. The ÖBB holding duo did not deliver orders of magnitude when presenting the 2019 consolidated balance sheet. Schiefer said in a conference call that it was not classic Corona state aid that ÖBB-Personenverkehr and Rail Cargo Austria (RCA) needed. Rather, it is about changes in the transport service contracts with the federal, state and local authorities.
