Cyberpunk 2077 will support ray tracing of RTX cards and Nvidia’s DLSS 2.0 at launch. The partnership between the hardware manufacturer and the Polish developer is getting stronger.
As already reported, in Cyberpunk 2077 ray tracing will be applied to different elements of the game, in particular:environmental occlusion, a shading and rendering technique used to calculate how much each point that makes up a scene is exposed to ambient light; a diffuse illumination, used to capture the radiance of the sky and the light reflected from the different surfaces, difficult to achieve with traditional rendering techniques; the reflections of all surfaces, both opaque and transparent, traced for several kilometers; the shadows, in particular the direct ones produced by the Sun and the Moon, which will be physically accurate and will also take into account the presence of clouds.
