Former investigator of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Novel Baswedan revealed three problems related to the anti-corruption agency that never caught the fugitives Harun Masikua PDIP politician who has been a suspect since January 2020.
Novel explained that the alleged interim turnover bribery (PAW) case that ensnared Harun allegedly involved political party officials. Harun is a former PDIP candidate.
“The Harun Masiku case is suspected to involve certain party officials. The search for Harun Masiku, I believe, will not be carried out unless it’s only modest. Is there a connection? Only Firli et al know,” Novel tweeted on the Twitter account @nazaqistsha and was allowed to be quoted on Monday ( 23/5).
The first problem, Novel highlighted the silence of the KPK leader Firli Bahuri Cs when the KPK team that carried out the Hand Capture Operation (OTT) in the case was intimidated by law enforcement officers (Polri). Then, the team is prohibited from conducting investigations.
“Perhaps because they are considered uncontrollable. Now these people have been successfully removed by Firli et al,” said Novel.
The alleged bribery case that also dragged the former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan was handled by the Task Force (Satgas) led by Rizka Anungnata.
Like Novel, Rizka has now become a National Police ASN after being fired by Firli Cs on the grounds that she did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK) assessment.
Third, Novel highlighted Firli’s efforts to return members of the investigation team of the case to the agency of origin. Investigator Rossa Purbo Bekti was sent back to the National Police Headquarters. However, the National Police Headquarters refused because Rossa had not yet finished her service at the KPK.
Meanwhile, Prosecutor Yadyn Palebangan who was included in the Analysis Team was withdrawn by the Attorney General’s Office. Yadyn was withdrawn and then involved in the team that handled the corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.
“The KPK team that succeeded in carrying out the OTT was actually ‘sanctioned’. One member of the National Police was returned (although not successful), one from the Prosecutor’s Office was returned and several Dumas employees were transferred by Firli et al. Several others were removed by the TWK process,” Novel said.
“Those are three indicators of why I believe that HM [Harun Masiku] Indeed, he will not be arrested as long as Firli is at the KPK,” he continued.
Harun had to face the law for allegedly bribing Wahyu Setiawan so that he could be appointed as a replacement for Nazarudin Kiemas, who passed to the DPR but died.
It is suspected that he prepared around Rp. 850 million for the facilitation so that he could go to Senayan.
It has been more than 850 days since the KPK has been unable to arrest Harun. No significant progress has been made by the KPK regarding the handling of the case.
