“Notified of’Nagara’ saying that it will create a dedicated corona hospital… Nomo crying every day

“Even my mother is crying every day at the story that my father is being driven out.”

The voice over the phone trembled from time to time. Mr. A, whose father has been hospitalized for two years at the municipal Happiness Nursing Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, said he felt like he was standing on the edge of a cliff these days. This is because the city of Seoul has designated a happy nursing hospital where his father is hospitalized on the 8th of last month, saying that it will create a nursing hospital dedicated to Corona 19.

Recently, he said he received a notice that he had to leave his seat by the 15th, right after the Lunar New Year holidays. It was a good cheer for the family. Mr. A said, “My father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and returned to a baby as he suffered a brain atrophy disease.” Mr. A’s father is 82 years old this year. As the illness deepened, he said that he was receiving life-saving treatment with the help of a nursing care provider.

249 patients with nowhere to go

– Mr. A said he had waited for six months to receive his father at the Happy Nursing Hospital. It is reliable as a municipality, and the facilities are clean and good, and there are word of mouth among people who have to take their parents to a nursing hospital. When Corona 19 broke out, I couldn’t go to see it myself, so I rolled my feet in regret. Mr. A complained, “The 79-year-old mother is crying every day this year to tell them to go out to create a hospital dedicated to Corona 19 in Seoul.” “If I go out now, it is obvious that I will die on the road, but from the perspective of my child, who would say who would go out with my parents?”

As they were on the verge of being expelled, the guardians, whose parents and other families were hospitalized at the Happy Nursing Hospital, formed a meeting. According to the guardian’s council, 249 out of a total of 262 patient guardians submitted documents to refuse discharge to the government.

“According to the medical law, if a patient requires continuous treatment, unless there are special circumstances, it cannot be refused,” said Hyun Doo-soo, who is the representative of the meeting. I even have the idea to do it,” he explained. Guardians have been protesting one person since the 8th in opposition to the city’s policy to “empty the bed.”

The current representative argued that “60-70% of patients are dementia/Parkinson patients, and are elderly people with disability grade 3 or higher, and even though they are different from general nursing hospitals, the city of Seoul is asking them to go out.” The Seoul Metropolitan Government told me to move to another hospital, but he added that the patients had no place to go. He said, “Happy nursing hospital patients are people who think they are dying here, and for patients, this is a place like home.” He explained, “In Seoul City, I am told to move out of the house I came from to spend the end of my life, but it is like moving alone without a doctor or a caregiver.”

He added that it is not easy to find a nursing care worker or a caregiver even if it is moved, and that the disease may worsen due to stress if the environment such as medical staff and facilities changes due to the characteristics of patients. He complained, “The time when I couldn’t see my parents because of the corona is already over a year.” Her mother, who is 89, is in the hospital this year, but visits were banned at the hospital due to the outbreak of coronavirus. “At the hospital, he said,’Please make a video call,’ but my mother couldn’t speak and couldn’t see, so the caregiver barely shows me through video calls,” he said.

The guardians decided to give triplets on the streets of the hospital this New Year with longing. The current representative said, “When I told you to go out on the holiday, I felt sad. “It is difficult to understand the reason why the patient guardian was excluded from the hearing procedure of the corona-dedicated hospital in this way without even having a consultation like this once.” He said, “We must cooperate with the government policy with a national principle, but children cannot do it to abandon the heavenly and human races.”

Seoul City “Deferring patient dissipation, will continue to talk”

– Seoul City’s Citizen Health Bureau Director Park Yoo-mi announced on the 10th that he would postpone the dissipation (discharge, all) measures taken against the patients of the Happy Nursing Hospital through an online briefing. They postponed the patient discharge measures, which were notified by the 15th, immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, and expressed their will to’talk’.

Director Park mentioned the interview with the guardians on the 10th and explained that “I will solve the problem through communication.”
He said, “It was an opportunity to listen to what the guardians think and the position of the hospital while having more than two hours (conversation) at the first meeting.” He said, “I will not overlook the explanation that patients who have been hospitalized for a long time in nursing hospitals are not simply hospitals that pass by, but have the meaning of living almost.”

Director Park said, “It would be nice to see that the time will be automatically delayed for the part that all patients are leaving on the 15th. We will try to solve the problems one by one through a lot of communication.”
