Not Only Preventing Corona, Covid-19 Vaccine is Good for Mental Health

JAKARTA Education in the US recently found that Covid-19 vaccine not only prevent transmission corona virus but also good for mental health somebody. more pandemic Covid-19 has affected people’s mental health leading to an increase in stress .

Conducted by researchers from the University of Southern California, the study, published in the journal PLOS, examined changes in mental stress after the first dose of vaccine.

The researchers analyzed the results of 8,003 adults, who were surveyed periodically between March 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.

The study found that people vaccinated between December 2020 and March 2021 reported a reduction in mental problems in a survey conducted after receiving the first dose.

“The results here should be interpreted as a direct short-term effect of getting the first dose of vaccine. The overall contribution of vaccine taking to improving mental health outcomes is potentially much greater, as it affects not only those vaccinated but also those who are not vaccinated,” the study wrote.

The effects found can arise from one or a combination of mechanisms. Where those who have just been vaccinated are less worried about being infected with the coronavirus, more socially active, or trying different job opportunities.

Dr HK Mahajan, anesthesiologist, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, Vasant Kunj, revealed that the Covid-19 pandemic has affected several aspects of people’s lives, including work, finances, health and social welfare.

All of these factors have contributed to mental health problems not only in afflicted patients Covid-19 , but also to those closest and dearest, and society in general. The mental aspects of the disease include, but are not limited to psychological distress, anxiety, depression, social isolation, and suicidal thoughts.

“The launch of mass vaccination has contributed greatly by increasing herd immunity, raising awareness and reducing anxiety among the masses,” said Dr KH Mahajan.

“With increasing awareness that the vaccinated population is immune from severe Covid infections, people are gradually returning to their pre-Covid lifestyle. This helps to relieve mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and aloofness,” added Dr KH. Mahajan.
