Not Just AR/VR Headsets, Meta Is Reportedly Working on This Smartwatch

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Facebook Inc officially became Meta as of Thursday, October 28, 2021. The change brings the technology company’s new focus to shifting to metaverse and the future of the way people connect with one another.

But, that doesn’t mean it’s all about the device headset technology augmented reality and virtual reality. Meta also seems to be working on that focus on products smartwatch. As shown in the image found in one of the iOS apps for Ray-Ban Stories.

Facebook, now Meta, is working on the smartwatch with Ray-Ban which raises the suspicion of a connection between the function of the watch and the glasses. Possibly, the functions complement each other in secretly recording photos and videos.

Another possibility is a video calling app through smartwatch, or a controller for VR Meta devices. There are several reports that exist about the watch linking its function to the function of a health monitor and messaging application—as it is plural smartwatch at the moment.

Another report citing sources inside Meta mentions that there will be three generations of the smartwatch with the first one being released in 2022, but he will not have a front camera. Smartwatch which will actually have LTE connectivity to make it work without the phone, it is also mentioned that it will be priced at around US $ 400 or equivalent to Rp. 5.7 million.
