North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected military factories, including a tactical missile factory, on August 11 and 12. He ordered an increase in missile production to ensure “overwhelming military power” and readiness for war, Reuters reported, citing the country’s Central Telegraph Agency.
Kim Jong-un described as important his “goal to dramatically increase missile production capacity to meet the needs of expanded and strengthened modern military units.”
“The level of quality of preparation for war depends on the development of the military industry, and the plant bears a great responsibility for accelerating the preparation of our army for war,” he said.
The North Korean leader took a ride on a new multi-purpose armored combat vehicle and also praised “progress in modernizing production lines for large-caliber multi-purpose missile launchers.” He said there was an “extreme need” to “exponentially increase” their production.
“Our military must fully guarantee superior military power and firm readiness to fight any war at any timeso that the enemy does not dare to use force and will be destroyed if he does,” the North Korean leader said.
