“No, we have never been against a local contact investigation”: CEO CM defends himself against criticism

In Flanders (but also in Brussels and Wallonia) the 5 major mutual insurance companies have been commissioned to organize so-called contact tracing together with call centers and consultant KPMG. In this way, the aim is to gain insight into the epidemic and to identify who an infected person has had contact with. The division of roles? The call centers call (both people who are infected and those who have come into contact with someone who is infected) and the health insurance companies go on the spot if telephone contact is impossible. A total of 1,200 Flemish contact investigators must be provided, which accounts for a total cost of 100 million euros.

But a lot of teething problems are popping up, which continue to drag on, and the criticism is growing (like you here can read). Experts advocated a local approach, but it will take until August 3 before this can be effective.
