Canada first NATO ally to ratify Finnish and Swedish membership offers

Helsinki and Stockholm applied to join NATO in May, less than two months after Russia’s full invasion of Ukraine.

Canada’s blessing on Tuesday to bring the Nordic countries into the NATO fold was accelerated last month by the unanimous support of the House of Commons for your membership.
