No sign of a man who entered armed school (Ghent)

Gent –

On Friday evening, around 8 pm, an unknown man entered the secondary Art Institute on the Ottogracht. He would have been armed with secateurs and a syringe. Class councils were just underway. The man is missing.

“At the time of the facts, we had 24 teachers at the school”; director Sofie Truwant told hln.be yesterday. Fortunately, no one was injured. For the class councils next week, I have already requested extra security. ”

The public prosecutor’s office was unable to say anything this morning except that an investigation is ongoing and a section of the street was cordoned off last night to carry out a search and sweeping. “The suspect fled and is still being searched. No PV has yet been drawn up. ”

The rumor that a stabbing has taken place is debunked by the public prosecutor’s office.
