Berlin – From mid-December the airline United Airlines will start a connection between Berlin-Brandenburg Airport (BER) and New York Airport Newark. Due to the corona pandemic, direct flights to the USA had been suspended for a long time. Before that, there had already been a direct connection to Berlin. With the eased entry restrictions for Europeans to the United States, the route should be flown again from December 17th.
As reported by the Berliner Morgenpost, United’s passenger planes are scheduled to take off daily at 9.55 a.m. from December 20th. The flight time to New York is about nine hours.
From November onwards, EU citizens with a full vaccination and an additional negative test result can return to the USA for tourist purposes. A general entry ban has applied to them since March 2020. The then US President Donald Trump ordered this for foreigners from large parts of Europe at the beginning of the corona pandemic.
