Security updates are especially important for carefree use of smartphones. In addition to device protection, the updates also improve the balance of the smartphone. If the updates are not carried out regularly, the chances of becoming a victim of hacker attacks, data theft or malware increase.
Huawei generally provides new smartphones with the important security updates for around three years. However, there is no fixed schedule. You can read which smartphones are still supplied with updates according to the Huawei list in the further text.
Important to know: The list is subject to frequent changes – some newer devices like that P40 series are not even listed yet. If a device falls out of the list in an update, it does not necessarily mean that the smartphone will no longer receive any updates. For example, the Huawei P20 (Pro) was no longer included in the latest version of the list. However, since the manufacturer has only recently started rolling out Android 10 for the series, it can be assumed that owners of a P20 or P20 Pro will receive security updates for a while. According to a Huawei tweet, the Mate 10 Pro should also continue to receive updates, although it does not appear in the official list.-
