Edouard Philippe announced it, the deconfinement of France will be made according to the evolution of the pandemic, in the various territories. Thus, from this Thursday, April 30, Jérôme Salomon will present an epidemiological assessment which will allow targeting of the departments and zones which will have to apply a more strict form of the measures. Red zones for more rigor and green zones for normal deconfinement.

The epidemic being different according to the regions, not everyone will be housed in the same boat in France concerning the deconfinement procedures. Red or green flag, we will now have to follow the daily point of the Director General of Health to determine whether to relax or strengthen the measures.

Edouard Philippe announced this Tuesday at the assembly during the presentation of its deconfinement plan: TAll territories have not been affected in the same way. It is therefore logical that, while being extremely careful, we propose a deconfinement framework adapted to the local realities of France as well as overseas.“.

Those are 3 criteria which will determine the color of the flags and therefore the more stringent measures to apply:

  • The new rate case in the population, over a period of 7 days, which shows that the circulation of the virus remains active;
  • The hospital capacities regional resuscitation;
  • The local testing system and contact case detection ready for deconfinement.

From these data, presented each evening, the government will be able to determine May 7, the departments which will have a flag red or green to May 11. Jérôme Salomon we will therefore present a detailed map by department.

This map will thus guide each department in the preparation of May 11, recalling the objective of strict containment, to reduce the circulation of the virus, but also the need to put the hospital system back on its feet and to set up a system effective contact case testing and detection“said the Prime Minister.

Concretely, what could it mean to be in a red or green zone? The color will determine the opening of schools on the one hand but also shopping centers or even parks and gardens.
