“No group of Scouts and Guides of Flanders has been expelled from Han-sur-Lesse”

The newspaper La Meuse-Namur reported in its Thursday edition that a troop of scouts from Flanders was ordered to evacuate the meadow it had occupied since the beginning of August in Han-sur-Lesse, on the basis of an order drawn up by the mayor acting as Rochefort. The reason for this eviction, explained the newspaper, is linked to noise pollution, denounced by residents to the police, but also to the consumption of alcohol and the lighting of fires, currently prohibited in the town due to Drought.

However, the Scouts and Guides of Flanders indicated Thursday evening that none of their groups were involved in such incidents in Han-sur-Lesse. The units must register online before their departure to camp and it appears from this registration that a group is indeed in the region but it had no problems with the authorities.

According to the spokesperson for the Scouts and Guides of Flanders, the group whose expulsion from Han-sur-Lesse was mentioned does not belong to the scout movement but it could be a group belonging to another movement of youth.
