Nintendo recently won a lawsuit from 2 million dollars versus Uberchips. The company was accused of selling hardware and software capable of installing and running games for free, or considered pirated, on Nintendo Swich.
As part of the deal, the company will have to to destroy all stock in stock and transfer the rights of its name to Nintendo. The Uberchips tools were created by the team of hackers Team-Xecuter, the next target of the lawyers of the great N. To reach the ruling, however, Nintendo had to sue those who distribute the hack and not the creators of the same.
According to the ruling, Team-Xecuter it would have created an unauthorized operating system called SX OS and offered the tools to install it. Through this operating system it was easy to run pirated games on both the Nintendo Switch and the Lite version of the console.
Obviously, the defense of Team-Xecuter claims that its work was aimed at giving users the possibility to make a backup of their games. But evidently for the judges it is not so, so much so that the company will have to pay a large amount of money to the big N.
Also, second mynintendonews 2 of the leaders of Team Xecuter would have been arrested in this hour.
