Last Monday, Jean-Paul Fournier withdrew your delegations from you. What state of mind are you in?
That’s a shame. Jean-Paul Fournier has all my respect as a man. But politically, what a mistake! This decision responds to an ukase of the Communist Party.
At the level of our electorate, the message is not terrible. And then bringing Eric Zemmour to Nîmes does not seem to me to be a great sin. He represents the strong right which is the majority within the Republicans. To deprive oneself of a voice in line with who the Republicans are shows how far the party has become center-right.
Do you find LRs too cautious?
Yes, too cautious and petty bourgeois. They no longer dare to do anything. They obey all the dictates of the moralizing left. However, reality forces us to open our eyes and consider the world as it is and not as we would like it to be.
Are you still inserted?
Yes but not up to date with my contributions. Either way, I can’t stay in a party that keeps denying itself.
Will you still sit in the municipal majority?
No. I am a political ghost, a municipal councilor without any mission.
Could you join another group?
Oh no, that’s not my style.
Are you considering resigning?
I ask myself the question very honestly. This is what I wanted to do after the mayor’s announcement of the withdrawal of my delegations. But Jean-Paul Fournier asked me to stay.

I take things with philosophy. It is a sign of fate. I have nothing to reproach myself. What matters is self-esteem. I did the job by his side, all the time, even when he was not well. I’ve always been there, never lied to him. I have a perfectly clear conscience.
In the end, I feel a lot freer. I am going to be able to say out loud what many are thinking quietly and prepare for Eric Zemmour’s visit to Nîmes on October 15.
