A six-year-old boy dies from covid-19 in the Canary Islands | Radio Club Tenerife | Hour 25 Canary Islands

Canarias has registered two deaths from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, one of them that of a 6 year old boy in Tenerife and the other that of a 56-year-old man in Gran Canaria, while there have been 107 new infections. The two deceased had “previous serious pathologies”, according to the Ministry of Health.

By islands, in Tenerife there have been 64 new infections, in Gran Canaria 33, in Lanzarote 11 and in La Palma 2, while in Fuerteventura 3 cases are discounted due to a statistical adjustment. There are 328 hospitalized patients, of them 71 in intensive care and 252 in the ward.

The incidence of new cases in the last fourteen days per 100,000 inhabitants is 85.57 and in the last seven days it is 39.16.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 53,842 covid-19 infections have been diagnosed in the Canary Islands, with 749 deaths and 50,259 medical discharges, so that the cases that remain active are 2,834.

In Tenerife there are 1,888 active cases, in Gran Canaria 769, in Lanzarote 143, in Fuerteventura 15, in El Hierro 8, in La Palma 7 and in La Gomera 3.

Regarding the outbreak of covid-19 in the sports field reported in Lanzarote, the team of trackers has detected new associated cases, up to a total of 48 affected.

Of these, 27 cases are directly related to sports activity and the other 21 are family ramifications.

Health has carried out 1,077,264 PCR tests in the Canary Islands, 2,383 of them in the last 24 hours.
