Nikkie de Jager, who was attacked by four men last week with her fiancé, has one video posted on YouTube in which she gives an update for the first time. The YouTuber and presenter let us know that she is “okay”.
“2020 is the year for me”, De Jager starts her video. “I have done the most amazing things this year, but also experienced very dark days. Now I am also going through such a period.”
De Jager and her fiancé Dylan were at home in Uden when four men broke into their house and held them at gunpoint. As far as is known, the perpetrators have not yet been found.
“I’m fine. It’s hard to comprehend what happened, but it does put things in perspective. More than ever I realize that family is the most important. Or perhaps more importantly, that your loved ones are healthy.” Presenter Linda Hakeboom, De Jager’s best friend, announced on Friday that she had breast cancer.
The YouTuber says “maybe someday” to tell you exactly what happened. “But now that is not possible, because of my mental state, but also because the research is still ongoing. We are doing everything we can to bring this to a positive conclusion.”
De Jager also thanked her fans. “I have received a lot of messages. We are pleased that so many people want the best for us.”
Police are currently investigating the case and are viewing camera images that have been secured. Forensic investigation is also carried out. It is still unclear what exactly the four perpetrators have stolen.
