The French-speaking police forces are tireless in their efforts to combat the nuisance caused by drivers whose vehicles have been modified to be noisier. The last action to date dates back to Friday, in Lausanne. A group of five agents devoted themselves entirely to this task from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. during a mobile check through the streets of Lausanne, while three experts from the Automobile Service welcomed the pinched drivers and whose vehicle required a little more checking or “additional checks,” as the police statement said.

A total of 15 vehicles had to pass through the Blécherette box, out of the 17 that were checked during the evening. After examining the experts, ten of them were found to be “non-compliant” and three could not even get back on the road “because they were unfit for traffic,” notes Lausanne police.

Almost everywhere in French-speaking Switzerland, the task is almost routine. While police action is not always planned, many reports of drivers occur when officers on patrol are confronted with vehicles so noisy that they catch the eyes and eyes of the police.
