Sometimes a light conversation on the radio can go wrong. At least that’s what happened this morning on MNM during the morning show when singer Niels Destadsbader threw a secret from newsreader Chaima Saysay into the air.

Niels Destadsbader (33), in addition to being a singer, actor and presenter, is above all a smooth talker. A little too fast, as it turned out this morning on MNM. Because when newscaster Chaima Saysay appeared in the studio, things got a bit out of hand.

It started nice, however: “Meanwhile, people are really looking in love here,” said presenter Wannes Synnave. “What a woman”, added Destadsbader. “What a woman, I’m a big fan of hers. I think she does that very well.” Chaima Saysay replied: “Very heartwarming, Niels. I am also your biggest fan.”
Hundreds of thousands of listeners
In a subsequent conversation, the love turned out to be over. “We had a very good feeling about each other. We both don’t have a garden, so it clicked,” says Destadsbader. “But now it turns out that she is pregnant with her second child. And it’s not mine, so I think it ends here.”
Only: Saysay turned out not to want to spread the news yet. “I want to make a complaint,” she said. “I tell you a secret and you tell it live on the radio in front of those hundreds of thousands of listeners.”
