It will also be a place where young people in difficulty can learn about the help that exists. It is often easier to confide your difficulties to a friend than to a social worker ”.

The former president of the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis recalled all the measures put in place by the government for the less fortunate students since the start of the health crisis, such as meals at 1 euros in university restaurants. or free menstrual protection for girls.

“There will be no need to meet social criteria”

Health crisis requires, the solidarity grocery store currently only offers take-out meals (between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., due to the curfew). They are prepared and offered by the central kitchen which supplies the city’s school canteens and are then reheated and served by the volunteers. But when the sanitary situation will once again make it possible to take meals together, this 160m2 restaurant will offer around fifty students the opportunity to eat two evenings a week. “There will be no need to meet social criteria to come here,” specifies Amaury Baudoux, President of FACE06. We do not want to stigmatize any young person. On the contrary, we want all the students to be able to come. We want young people to make this place their own in the long term ”.

The solidarity restaurant of FACE06 is housed in premises provided by the city of Nice.
