It’s almost the end for the Cosem private medical and dental center at Cours Gambetta in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon.
This center, which welcomes 2,000 patients each month, will very quickly close its doors only two years after its opening in the Saxe-Gambetta district.
A network of medical centers in turmoil
Cosem, an association financed by Social Security, offering sector 1 fees and third-party payment, is in turmoil with several planned closures of its centers in Saint-EtienneParis, Tours and Amiens.
Last May, an investigation was opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the Brigade for the Repression of Economic Delinquency, after two reports. In the viewfinder: the general director, Daniel Dimermanas, and his wife suspected of fictitious jobs and exorbitant expense reports.
Closure decided from headquarters
Of the 17 Cosem centers in France, several will close, including that of Lyon, according to information from our colleagues at BFMTV.
The closure was decided from the Paris headquarters and was recently learned by the Lyon director. The center of Cours Gambetta like that of Saint-Etienne is in deficit.
“Today, it is very complicated in Lyon to find a cardiologist in a short time, and the treating doctors, I let you imagine the number of months of waiting to find one. If we can find one. Today, we find ourselves with patients who have not had a treating doctor for three years,” says Elisa d’Angelo, director of the center.

Closure scheduled for February 29
Doctors who work in the center were also notified of the closure a few days ago. No practitioner or employee has yet received a letter of economic dismissal. The center offers consultations of general medicine or dentistry but also cardiology.
The Cosem center is due to close on February 29, 2024. According to our findings, it was still in operation and open to patients this Wednesday, February 21 at the end of the afternoon.
