Not even a day after Tom Brady’s announcement to leave the New England Patriots, his new NFL team appears to be certain: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As confirmed by NFL insiders, the Florida franchise has reached an agreement with the 42-year-old that should bring him over $ 30 million annually.
After some teams in need of the quarterback position went to the Free Agency, Brady quickly broke some hot stocks. The Tennessee Titans extended with Ryan Tannehill, the Las Vegas Raiders bet on competition between Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota.
So the signs quickly came to a head on the Buccaneers, who on the one hand have the salary cap opportunities to take Brady under a high contract and on the other hand are likely to be willing to meet the further requirements of the six-time Super Bow winner.
Only the Los Angeles Chargers also showed interest, but should not have come up with the offer of the Buccaneers. Brady also wants to stay on the east coast of the United States for family reasons.
The deal is expected to be official later this Wednesday.
