Gogol Bordello gained recognition and global recognition thanks to its extravagant stage image, energetic music and theatrical concert shows. Gogol brothelo is able to combine Eastern European moods with classical punk rock, which leads to the wildest performance imaginable.
Just like a manifestation of multiculturalism – the band was founded in America, its leader and inspirer was born in Ukraine and the rest of the group is made up of representatives from Russia, Belarus, Ethiopia, Ecuador, who consider punk rock as their way of life. , including metal, rap, flamenco and even reggae. Given the multiculturalism of the group, and bearing in mind that the members of the group come from countries dominated by a rather complex domestic political situation, they try to distance themselves from the chaos of the world through their music and performances and unconsciously create a space free from cultural contexts and politics, which is inhabited only by the expressive, energetic and engaging Gogol Bordello music.
Without losing the so characteristic sound of the association during its musical activity Gogol Bordello have played thousands of concerts, released ten albums, starred in a number of prestigious films and performed at major world festivals, including Coachella, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Roskilde, Rock am Ring, Reading & Leeds u.c.
