Newsletter: Vaccination in New York

Dear reader,

As you know from our newsletters from the last few months, we try at this point to focus on positive news and entertaining anecdotes. Because we have all got enough bad news long ago – and above all it is so depressing.

Today there is a little treat from the Corona world right at the beginning: New York City now wants to offer vaccinations for tourists. Mobile vaccination teams could vaccinate guests from all over the world, for example in Times Square. At least that’s how the mayor imagines it. So if you don’t have a vaccination appointment yet, how about a little trip to New York?

But please inquire beforehand whether the mayor’s move will be approved. It’s not over yet, and unfortunately we cannot reimburse you for your travel expenses if you do not receive an injection after all …

But that will be the case for everyone in the near future anyway. Experts have calculated that anyone who wants to be vaccinated could have received their first vaccination by mid-June. This is mainly due to the fact that there are now days when more than a million people in Germany are vaccinated.

You can find out more about the new corona and vaccination situation this week on the front page of our newspaper and here: https://supertipp-online.de/2021/05/06/erste-imichtung-fuer-alle-impfwilligen- already-until-mid-June /.

This article is also about the fact that the Bundestag decided on Thursday to make relief for those who have been fully vaccinated and those who have recovered. The Federal Council has now also approved this project. First of all, this decision will not be so important in everyday life, because “fully vaccinated” are mostly people over 80 years of age. And it’s not exactly to be expected now that this group will party beyond the curfew …

Speaking of curfews: the numbers of incidences are falling. We don’t know now whether this is due to the curfew or not. In any case, fewer people are infected with the virus than before, and even that is already considered good news.

In our current situation you can follow how the numbers are developing every day: https://supertipp-online.de/2021/05/07/corona-virus-nrw-deutschland-lage-kreis-mettmann/. Here our graphics show you that more than 25 million people in Germany have now received a first vaccination (as of Friday) and that the incidence in the Mettmann district has unfortunately jumped over 200 again. We still need a few more efforts on site to finally get out of the “emergency brake” regulations.

We would like to recommend a little story to you this week: The Niederbergisches Museum in Wülfrath has made a film, a sightseeing flight through the museum. This film is a little masterpiece in itself. But it also shows an overview of what the Wülfrather Museum has to offer (it’s hard to believe.) And if you then plan a visit to the museum for the time after the lockdown, then the many volunteers of the sponsoring association are all the more happy, because this museum has of course been badly shaken by the pandemic. You can find our report on the drone flight in the newspaper and here: https://supertipp-online.de/2021/05/06/drohnenflug-durch-das-niederbergische-museum/.

Many thanks at this point: You all contributed to the fact that this week we actually cracked the 1.5 million page impressions in 30 days on www.supertipp-online.de.

And then we all look forward to one (!) Summer’s day: on Sunday it should be 25 degrees (or more) here too. Crazy world: It was still snowing in Niederberg this morning …

We wish you a nice weekend and an informative read with our newspaper!
