The participating nations had already decided to give up EHC in case the CM did not take place.
Swiss Ice Hockey is therefore forced to cancel the friendly matches against Russia (Friday April 17 in Lausanne and Sunday April 19 in Zug) and Italy (Friday April 24 in Lugano). The Federal Council having declared the state of extraordinary situation in all Switzerland until April 19, it was clear Monday already that these matches could not take place.
The friendly against Italy on April 23 in Bolzano and the two games in Riga against Latvia on April 30 and May 1 are also canceled. The Swiss national team’s season is over.
