News – Justice | Violent fire in a house in the Grandes-Terrasses

Around 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday, a violent fire broke out in a terraced house in the Grandes-Terrasses subdivision, at No. 14 boulevard d’Eole, in Hayange.

As they chatted in front of the house, a local mother and her neighbor saw flames entering a first-floor window. The neighborhood quickly raised the alarm and allowed three children and their father to get out of the house while a neighbor was spraying the front with a garden hose.

The firefighters from the Hayange, Florange, Moyeuvre and Thionville rescue centers were able to quickly put out the fire. The fire remained in one room of the house, but the smoke caused extensive damage, making the accommodation uninhabitable. The emergency services took care of the three children to check their CO2 levels. They are unharmed, but the father burnt in the arms had to be transported to the hospital center.

The firefighters also carried out checks to secure the adjoining dwelling.

The family could not return to their accommodation, solidarity was quickly organized in the neighborhood to be able to welcome them comfortably that night.

Police at the Thionville police station will have to determine the source of the fire, as of yet, unknown.
