“The Edge”: This is New York’s spectacular new viewing platform
So far “The Edge” could only be admired from below. The tapering, glass platform protrudes from the 100th floor of the “30 Hudson Yards” skyscraper in New York. From March 11th, however, visitors can access the outdoor viewing terrace for those with a head for heights. The platform with a transparent glass floor “hangs in the air, with a 360-degree view”, the operators advertise. The curiosity about the spectacular new viewing platform at 335 meters is huge, even in New York, which is spoiled for views. Many of the around 36 dollar tickets were sold out in advance. At the same time, the new terrace is heating up the competition for viewing platforms in New York. The platforms of the One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building are the highest at around 380 meters, the Rockefeller Center has a huge outdoor area. The entrance fees are similar. Now “The Edge” also wants to get involved in the new Hudson Yards district in west Manhattan. But visitors shouldn’t be afraid of heights.
