It is a rather incredible discovery that this New Yorker has made, as described by our colleagues from NBC New York March 5. The kind of find you only get in movies, usually. Through videos she posted on her TikTok account, she revealed that she discovered a hole behind her bathroom mirror. But not just any hole. A hole leading to an abandoned apartment. Basically, according to NBC New York, she was trying to find out where a “blast of cold air” from her bathroom was coming from. Good for him to look behind his mirror.

With her phone, she decides to go see, with the greatest of curiosities, which room is hidden behind. Equipped with a hammer, a mask and a headlamp, she goes to… a hidden apartment. On one of the videos, one of her friends who came with her launches: “You are on the other side of the dimension”. The apartment is partially furnished, perhaps unfinished, visibly abandoned for some time even if there are full bins or empty water bottles.

She will fill the hole

Finally, the young woman returns home visibly delighted to be “safe and sound”. So she discovered an entire dilapidated and derelict apartment. Not knowing who it really belongs to, she decided, according to NBC, to cement the hole in her bathroom before more work was done. She said she wanted to call her landlord to let him know as well.

His videos presented under the title of “A New York City Mystery” have in any case become viral on social networks, in particular TikTok, according to our colleagues, with a total of more than nine million views. “I think everyone in New York has such small apartments, you don’t know what you’re going to stumble upon, but everyone is hoping for more space,” she commented to the channel, no without a touch of irony.
