New York sees rise in hate crimes

The New York Police Department revealed in its most recent report that there is an increase in crimes with aggravated discrimination of 76% so far this year, in relation to the same period in 2021.

The NYDP Hate Crimes Task Force released the latest statistics for January through April 10.

This report includes 194 cases of hate crimes, compared to 110 during the same period last year.

That report also included a breakdown by race.

Racial attacks against Jews increased 207% and there was a 100% increase in hate crimes against blacks. However, in Asians they decreased by 32%.
