As vaccination progresses in the United States, social life resumes in New York. The vaccination rate of the inhabitants has notably enabled the reopening of restaurants and the celebration in the streets of the legalization of cannabis in this Northeastern state. Report.
In the United States, the huge vaccination campaign against Covid-19 is ongoing. Some 50.4% of Americans over 18 have received at least one dose of vaccine, and 32.5% are fully vaccinated, including seniors 65 and over, said Sunday, April 19, the the country’s main federal public health agency.
These national proportions approximate those of New York City. Nearly half of its inhabitants have already received one dose, and approximately 30% of its population has received two doses.
Queues in front of restaurants and festive atmosphere
Life has therefore returned to the streets, including queues in some restaurants. A change of mood well received by those who have been most affected by the crisis. South of the city, in Union Square, New Yorkers even partied to celebrate the recent legalization of cannabis in New York State.
