One of the longest and most popular series of the 90s/2000s is about to make its big comeback on television. New York Police Judiciaire, the flagship series created by Dick Wolf which gave birth to the spin-offs New York: Special Unit and New York: Organized Crimes, returns for a twenty-first season this Friday, April 7 on 13th Street, eleven years after the series was canceled in May 2010.

In September 2021, the American channel NBC had indeed announced that it had ordered an additional season of the legal series, which had stopped after 20 years of existence. A revival that will continue to tell the daily life of “the police, who investigate crimes, and prosecutors, who prosecute criminals“.

In this new season of New York Police Judicial, also known in France as New York District, prosecutor Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) will once again survey the Manhattan court. Detectives and assistants to the New York prosecutor will try to solve the most delicate cases, some in the field and others in court.

Alongside Sam Waterston who takes over the role of Jack McCoy for the occasion, we can also find Anthony Anderson who once again slips into the skin of Inspector Kevin Bernard.

Jeffrey Donovan, seen in Burn Notice, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal), Camryn Manheim (Ghost Whisperer) and Odelya Halevi (Midnight Texas) complete the cast by playing new characters who will lend a hand to the two protagonists.

Launched in 1990 in the United States, and broadcast in France on France 3, 13ème Rue then TF1, New York Police Judiciaire has seen a succession of numerous actors such as the late Jerry Orbach, Chris Noth, S. Epatha Merkerson, Alana de la Garza, or even Jeremy Sisto.

The detective series has also given birth to a prolific franchise comprising no less than seven spin-offs including New York Special Unitwhich is still airing with 24 seasons on the clock, New York Criminal Section, New York City Court, LAPD, Law & Order: True Crime, and most recently New York Organized Crimea series itself derived from Special Unit.

Note that season 21 of New York Police Judiciaire has been so successful that NBC has decided to order an additional season which is currently broadcast in the United States.

See you this Friday, April 7 from 9 p.m. on 13th Street to discover the new season 21 of New York Judicial Police.
