While technology gives victims access to information, means to plan for their safety, and ways to connect with support systems, it is no less true that their abusers often use it to cause them great harm. Therefore, in addition to the campaign on Twitter (@NYSOPDV), Facebook (@NYSdomesticviolence) and Instagram (@nysopdv), the agency will sponsor a panel Featuring representatives from Facebook, Apple, Norton LifeLock, and academic experts who will discuss emerging risks related to technology-assisted abuse, as well as mobile advocacy and other innovations to help people.
