New York City offers $ 100 to all first-time vaccinees

In the United States, rewards continue to rain in order to encourage Americans to get vaccinated en masse. In New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Wednesday that the city will offer starting this Friday, July 30 $ 100 to everyone who would get a dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus in a center deployed by the town hall.

In fact, the number of infections has clearly increased since the beginning of July in the city of New York, passing on average 200 to 250 cases per day to nearly 1,000 today. However, the number of hospitalizations is still very low in this city which was the epicenter of the epidemic in the spring of 2020, with around 20 to 30 admissions per day.

In New York State, which is the 4th most populous the United States, 12 million inhabitants received at least one dose of vaccine, or 62.4% of the total population and 74.7% of the population over 18 years old. These numbers are better than the national average: 69% of adult Americans having received at least one dose. Seven people died from the coronavirus in New York state on Tuesday.
