The city of New York is open, welcoming visitors back to its vibrant neighborhoods across five boroughs. The metropolis has not stood still and is conquering the hearts of future guests with a range of new sights. A brand new observation deck, SUMMIT, has opened in Midtown and foodies enjoy a selection of new restaurants. NYC & Company, the official marketing and tourism agency for New York City’s five boroughs, lists the best new sights for a future trip to de Big Apple.

Discover NYC from a new perspective
New York City has a special new observation deck. On top of the iconic new One Vanderbilt skyscraper, SUMMIT opens. SUMMIT takes visitors to the highest vantage point in Midtown, overlooking the Chrysler Building, Empire State Building, and northern Central Park. The glass tiles give you a view of everything as you stand more than 1,000 feet above Madison Avenue.
The big stage
When you think of New York, you quickly think of the greatest musicals in the world. And for those enthusiasts there is good news. Broadway is back with classics like The Lion King, Chicago and Wicked, and newer productions like Hadestown, Waitress, Hamilton, Come From Away. Brand new shows that will debut include Thoughts of a Colored Man, Diana and Mrs. double fire; and much more. A full schedule can be found here.
Designer of Dreams
Fashionistas can see the iconic Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum until February 20, 2022. The exhibition is about the pioneering history and legacy of the House of Dior. It also highlights Dior’s many sources of inspiration, including a collection of more than 200 haute couture garments, as well as photographs, sketches, archive videos, vintage perfume elements and accessories. Well worth a visit!
Find nature
Enjoying New York doesn’t have to cost a lot. The newly opened Little Island at Pier 55 is a
free public park including a 687-seat amphitheater, a plaza, community gardens, food and beverage outlets, and more. Ideal for a romantic picnic followed by a walk through the park.
The newest culinary hotspots
We already knew that foodies can indulge themselves in New York City, but with a number of newcomers, the city is breathing new life into the culinary scene.
Earlier this year, the large seafood restaurant Le Pavillon by Daniel Boulud in Midtown opened its doors at the foot of One Vanderbilt, ideal for those who enjoy fresh seafood at a high culinary level.
Those who prefer an extensive choice between different cuisines would do well to visit the food complex in Manhattan West. These include Danny Meyer’s restaurant Ci Siamo, which pays tribute to Italy with an outdoor terrace, and the Eastern Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Zou Zou’s, which serves dishes from Lebanon, Turkey, Egypt and Jordan.
Ideal for a romantic dinner is the newly opened Yoshino New York in Soho, restaurant of renowned Japanese chef Tadashi Yoshida. In an intimate setting of 12 places, guests enjoy sushi omakase dinners here.
