LONDON, KOMPAS.com – After releasing a teaser teaser, Yamaha Europe officially released Yamaha MT-09 the 2021 model. There are some changes that occur compared to the old model.
Changes in the exterior can be seen from the shape of the main lights. Single projector LED headlights with DRL, while the LED taillights now form a different ‘Y’ shape than they used to be.

MT-09 The 2021 now uses a 41mm diameter upside down suspension and an adjustable monoshok rear suspension. The rim is also 0.7 kg lighter than the previous model. The seat height has increased slightly from 5 mm to 825 mm.
Another improvement is the chassis sector. The new MT-09 frame uses aluminum. It weighs 2.3 kg lighter. The frame is also said to be stiffer so that it increases stability while driving.

The heart still uses the Crossplane’s inline-triple engine configuration, but the cubic is enlarged from 850cc to 889cc. More power reaches 117.3 tk at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm.

In addition to engine capacity, Yamaha also revised the exhaust design. Do not forget to improve the injection so as to produce a more controlled flow of the mixture of gasoline and air which is now Euro 5.

The transmission is still the same as a six-speed gearbox with the addition of a slipper cluth. This new model is also equipped with an up and down Quick shifter as a standard option, an upgrade from the previous MT-09.
Some of these changes made the overall weight of the MT-09 2021 decreased by about 4 kg from 193 kg to 189 kg. The tank capacity remains the same, which is 14 liters for long trips.
