Volkswagen began road trials of the new Polo Russia. The model in the form of a test mule was photographed on the streets of Moscow.
A photo of the car in a strange “plumage” was posted in his profile by a user Cadiol. Judging by the nameplate, grille and headlights, we have before us a Volkswagen Jetta, but some are very compact – the size of a Polo, and clearly with impromptu “grill” and optics. Here it is worth paying attention to the body shape – the liftback, in which the new Rapid is unmistakably recognized, which is about to appear at Skoda dealers.
In fact, we are dealing with the usual practice of the global automotive industry, when the units are tested on the so-called mules. Firstly, this approach saves time and money: new rapid already produced in Russia, and it has one platform with Polo, so the company does not need to wait until new molds are delivered and equipment is debugged. Secondly, seeing in this case a disguise as a VW Jetta, the automaker, for obvious reasons, is trying to hide the novelty.

The exact start date for the production of the new Polo (as you know, on the old platform) is not yet available. We assume that sales can begin in the spring.
Currently, Volkswagen Polo is offered with atmospheric “fours” with a capacity of 90 and 110 hp, as well as with a 125-horsepower turbocharged 1.4 TSI. Available gearboxes: 5-speed manual gearbox and 6- or 7-speed DSG. The price of a sedan in the most affordable configuration is from 699,900 rubles.
