Hyundai reaches a new milestone, a real mileage record, traveling for a total of well 790 kilometers aboard the New Kona Electric, with a single charge. By surpassing the approved range of 660 km in the urban cycle (WLTP), the House underlines its position at the forefront of electric mobility.
The car is equipped with a 64 kWh. With a full charge it allowed the team to drive exactly 15 hours and 17 minutes in everyday traffic in Madrid. During this time, the new Kona Electric traveled 790 kilometers at an average speed of 52.19 km / h, with an average electricity consumption of 8.2 kWh / 100 km. A value that is well below that calculated according to the WLTP standard of 14.7 kWh / 100 km.
It was the test team of the automotive section of the Spanish newspaper EL PAÍS who did the test on board the brand’s new electric car. The team has succeeded in its intent, covering the 790 kilometers in daily traffic aboard the Hyundai 100% electric compact SUV without having to stop to recharge, exceeding the approved range of 130 kilometers and above all scoring a record milestone.
Kona Electric started from INSIA, the Automotive Research Center of the Technical University of Madrid, which has certified the test after recharging the battery and sealing the charging door of the car. The test was carried out along the M-30, the Madrid ring road, along the stretches to and from the INSIA headquarters.
