New radio figures are known: Radio 2 remains frontrunner, Qmusic again second largest radio station | showbiz

MusicThe new radio figures are known. In the months of May, June, July and August most people listened to Radio 2. Just as was often the case in the past. Qmusic is in second place with a market share of 13.15%. The third place is for the radio station Joe.

Even during the holiday months, 2.7 million people listened to one of our radio stations every day. This is evident today from the latest measurement by the Center for Information about the Media (CIM). The figures show that Radio 2 maintains its position as frontrunner, with a market share of just under 30 percent. Qmusic remains the second largest radio station in Flanders. Compared to August last year they saw their market share increase from 10.4 percent to 13.15 percent. Radio station Joe is in third place with a share of about 10%.

Intense sports summer

Last summer turned out to be positive for the radio coverage of VRT. Radio 1 sees its market share rise to 8.3 percent, partly thanks to an intense summer of sports. Studio Brussel’s market share grew from 8 to 8.7 percent. The station saw their community grow with 40,000 listeners. Youth channel MNM (7.88 percent market share) reaches more than 540,000 listeners every day and Klara is growing from 2.2 to 2.4 percent market share.

Nostalgia achieves a market share of 7.1 percent in the general target group 12+, with the increase in listening time continuing. This increases to 217 minutes. It is already the sixth consecutive measurement that Nostalgia is increasing in listening time. At the end of 2018, Nostalgie still had a listening time of 151 minutes, so the growth is significant. NRJ remains stable in market share (0.34 percent), but is again gaining more listeners.
