This is the media RockTheBells, belonging to the group SiriusXM who announced it on Thursday: Mark Anthony Morales, known by the stage name Prince Markie Dee, is dead. The artist passed away on February 18 in Miami, on the eve of his fifty-third birthday. The American media does not indicate the reasons for the death of the celebrity. A founding member of The Fat Boys, made up of himself, Damon Wimbley and Darrun Robinson (who died in 1995), the rapper had rose to fame in the 80s.

A pioneer of the genre, Morales had contributed with his two acolytes to the democratization of rap in the land of Uncle Sam. Known for their use of beatboxing, the trio revealed artists such as Biz Markie and Doug E. Fresh. The group has released no less than seven albums in seven years. Several projects had also been certified with the culmination of a platinum disc for cardboard Crushin’, released in 1987. The song Wipeout, from this album had thus reached twelfth place in the Bilboard Hot 100. After retiring as an artist, Prince Markie Dee served as vice-president of Uncle Louis Music.
