New music: Single by Lil ‘Kleine | Taylor Swift is re-recording album | NOW

The music streaming service Spotify refreshes the New Music Friday playlist every Friday, containing a large proportion of the new singles released by national and international artists. NU.nl lists a number of striking releases.

Lil Kleine – Where I come from

Lil ‘Kleine will release his second single of this year on Friday. Previously already appeared No Hype, a collaboration with JoeyAK and Kevin, which he now succeeds with Where I come from. He co-wrote the new single Monsif Bakkali, who also produced the song. On the song Jorik Scholten, as Lil ‘Kleine really is called, raps about everything he has achieved and the people around him who are not sincere and only want something from him. “I’m alone and I won’t let myself be said,” he says in the chorus.

Taylor Swift – Mr. Perfectly Fine

Taylor Swift announced after a dispute with Big Machine Records that she will be re-recording her first six albums (which were released with that company). Swift no longer wants the label to earn money from her music that she does not own. She now puts her money where her mouth is and has her second album Fearless, which was released in 2008, has been re-recorded. Also six songs that did not make it to the record at the time, including Mr. Perfectly Fine, have now appeared. That counts Fearless (Taylor’s Version) 26 songs.

Boss B – Child In Me

Boss B is back after a long break with new music. The rapper, whose real name is Bart Zeilstra, is releasing his solo album That Good New Time from. The rapper who became known as a duo with Lange Frans decided to quit music in 2009 and went to study psychology. In 2019 he was briefly reunited with Lange Frans and recently he mainly worked on his own music. Against The Telegraph he says about the number Child In Me: “In it I describe that I closed myself off for years out of pure self-protection. The connection with the child in me, with the carefree, the uninhibited, the playful was gone. When I found that again, inspiration followed naturally.”

Doja Cat and SZA have joined forces. The rapper and singer who scored a big hit with last year Say So, enlisted the help of the R&B singer for the lead single from her upcoming album Planet Her. The number is called Kiss Me More and contains a sample of the eighteenth century number Physical van Olivia Newton-John.
